Welcome to Our New PhD Students!

The admissions process for the University of Warsaw Doctoral Schools for the 2026/2027 academic year has come to an end. Congratulations to everyone who has been admitted, and welcome to the University of Warsaw’s doctoral community!

All new PhD students will take part in the “Good Start” onboarding programme, designed to introduce them to the opportunities and support available to early-career researchers at the University of Warsaw, while also helping them integrate into the doctoral community. The programme will take place on 5–6 October and will include a series of information sessions and training workshops aimed at preparing participants for doctoral education and research at the University of Warsaw. Registration for the workshops will open on 14 September.

Another important initiative is PhD Camp, a training and integration retreat scheduled for 6–8 November. First-year PhD students will meet at the European Centre for Geological Education in Chęciny, where they will develop key academic and professional skills while getting to know fellow doctoral researchers. Registration for PhD Camp will begin on 7 October.

Both the “Good Start” programme and PhD Camp are funded under the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” programme.
